Join the founding team at Golf Precinct
We are creating a large indoor golf, recreational and hospitality facility built around technology-led golf, putting, food, beverage, functions and a welcoming customer experience. The venue’s on-licence application describes Golf Precinct as an indoor entertainment venue for golf simulators, golf putting, food, beverages, functions and golf retail.
This is more than a standard bar shift
The Founding Duty Manager will help establish the operating rhythms, service standards and responsible-hosting culture of the venue from launch. You will lead shifts, support the wider team and ensure alcohol is sold and supplied responsibly whenever you are the appointed manager on duty.
The opportunity
Take a key launch role in a distinctive sports, entertainment and hospitality business.
Help build practical opening, closing, incident-management and host-responsibility routines.
Lead customer-facing shifts across the bar, reception, simulator and event areas.
Support golf leagues, corporate bookings, private functions and other venue events.
Contribute ideas as the offering and team develop.
What you will be responsible for
Act as the appointed manager on duty during alcohol service and remain present in the licensed area as required.
Take control of situations that may lead to a breach of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 or the venue’s licence conditions.
Apply host-responsibility standards, including identification checks, monitoring intoxication, refusing service when necessary, offering food, water and non-alcoholic options, and supporting safe transport.
Lead and support front-of-house, bar and reception team members during each shift.
Oversee opening and closing procedures, cash and POS controls, stock handling, presentation and shift handovers.
Manage customer issues, incidents and escalations calmly, consistently and professionally.
Support functions and events, including pre-shift briefings and clear expectations for organisers and guests.
Monitor noise, patron behaviour and the overall safety and security of the venue.
Maintain accurate incident, refusal-of-service, training and compliance records.
Help train team members in service standards, age verification, intoxication prevention and venue procedures.
What we are looking for
A current New Zealand Manager’s Certificate is required.
Proven experience as a Duty Manager, shift leader, bar supervisor or hospitality manager.
Sound working knowledge of responsible service, host responsibility and licensed-premises compliance.
Confident leadership, clear communication and sound judgement under pressure.
A hands-on approach and willingness to work across bar, reception, events and venue operations.
Availability for rostered evenings, weekends and major events.
An interest in golf, sport, events or technology-led entertainment would be an advantage, but is not essential.
Why join Golf Precinct?
Be part of the founding team and influence how the venue operates from day one.
Work in a fresh, premium environment combining indoor golf, hospitality and events.
Receive role-specific induction and ongoing responsible-service and product training.
Build practical experience across venue operations, functions and customer experience.
Competitive remuneration aligned with experience and certificate status.
